Table Talk

Brownsville, BK | 2024 - Present

Department of Health and Mental Hygiene

Pitkin Avenue Business Improvement District

$$ | Public Art | Placekeeping

Table Talk is a creative and communal anchor — a bold invitation to take a seat at the table. Situated in the heart of Zion Triangle, this installation offers a space for neighbors to come together, share stories, exchange ideas, and find moments of rest and reflection amid the vibrant rhythm of Brownsville’s Pitkin Avenue corridor.

The piece builds upon the existing lighting installation in Zion Triangle, creating a visual and emotional bridge that connects past, present, and future. It serves as a beacon of belonging and a celebration of community identity. Suspended above are translucent hexagons that capture and refract light, casting a dynamic, colorful glow onto the surface below. Each hexagon holds handwritten messages, dreams, and reflections from community members responding to the prompt: “Brownsville is...” These collective voices transform the piece into a living dialogue.

Brownsville Wellness Market

A three-part night market series designed to uplift local entrepreneurship, wellness, and creativity. Each event created new opportunities for local vendors to showcase their products and services, while Table Talk, offered a welcoming and flexible gathering space.

The series featured free, all-ages programming focused on health and wellbeing — including recreational cycling, healthy cooking demos, yoga, sound meditation, and high-intensity fitness classes.

On market days, Zion Triangle came alive — supporting over 20 local entrepreneurs, welcoming a surge of community visitors, and spotlighting neighborhood creatives.
