Hive Public Space believes in the importance of staying informed in the current trends and research in the field. We want to address issues that involve complex urban systems and acknowledge that most of today's problems cannot be solved by a single discipline. Our approach involves multidisciplinary design research in fields that include urban design, architecture, planning, economy, public health, and ecology, among others.
Both of our co-founders have experience in the academic and research fields. Racha Daher teaches masters-level urban design studio at KU Leuven and worked as a researcher for the Urban Design Lab at Columbia University. Alexandra Gonzalez served as a research associate in the urban design masters program at Columbia University and worked on the Active Design -Shaping the Sidewalk Experience publication while at NYC Department of City Planning.
